Margaret meets Fangolian seed pod distributor

Margaret walked toward the Moorish castle, her spatula and whisk at the ready. She turned toward Fluffy, her unleashed mule, and said, “It’s cypress balls for you today, Fluff. No more pods from unknown sources.” Fluffy nodded in quiet agreement. Being a highly trained emotional repair and renewal companion, the mule accompanies Margaret on her morning walks. Spencer gave the unhorse to his dear Margaret for Christmas in 1989, the year of the “sadness”.

“There’s no reason to cry, silly,” Margaret continued, spatula in the upright position.

Spencer looked down from a live oak limb. “Ha, there you are my dearest. I’ve been collecting specimens for Drfluffy the mule. Limpsoc, he’ll be here for a late dinner around two. Check out this Manicotta Spaghetioutus … it must be five inches long! Ernesto, that enfant terreeblah flood, must have brought it. Poor thing was clinging to a Ringlet, a large yellow one. What a glorious morning! Have you found need of the spatula’s fondling yet today?”

Margaret shook her head. “No, but I expect to any moment. Look, Spence… Fluffy is turning yellow and red. What did Dr. Limpsoc said that meant? I always forget? Either it’s going to rain in a few hours or I’m about to have another attack of Aunt J Eyenah. I am feeling a bit quixotic.”

“Go on back to the library and ask Cook for two of the blue pills, the little round ones. It’s angina. And you know how it makes you binge purge.” Spencer climbed down from the tree and began to dust off his trousers. “Dam-ned spider warts. They’re worse than delphinium briars. Look how they cling to my pants like Little Jimmy Watson used to hang onto my legs when I left to go home after babysitting.” He gave Margaret a kiss on her elbow. “I’ll see you at one. Take care… and Fluffy… you go along with Mama.”
