Why tulip-time for a theme?

Last week we walked down to Haven’s Gardens (which are not gardens but hell, who’s keeping track?) and I noticed three red tulips enjoying the false spring and the bit o’drought respite. So, in honor of NC’s Terra Ceia-based bulb farms as well as the weeks I spent at Emerson University’s Kasteel Well summer program a few years back:
