Brown St. Demolition

It\'s about time.

The neighborhood crack house is finally gone. It’s taken 15 years to get rid of this piece of crap building which was inhabited, over the last six months, by squatters. Prostitutes and drug dealers. Nasty ass place. Thanks to John a new home will finally be built on the lot. There is not just enough I could say about having no tenant or occupancy codes in a small town. Slumlords, who hide behind church and civic organizations, rent out sub-standard housing to the elderly and the poor here in Washington, NC. The grinding poverty and illiteracy, the bigotry and xenophobia of this eastern NC county, can wear me down sometimes. It’s nice to have some bit of light at the end of this blighted economy’s tunnel.

On the flip side — what is MORE FUN than an EXCABATER tearing down a BUILDING HOUSE? Oh NANA! Boys were literally grabbed out of naptime sleep mode to drive to Nana and Rob’s house to watch a real life episode of Bob the Builder. Shades of the movie Elizabethtown came to mind… if you’ll behave, I’ll tear down this house…
