An on-goingly updated list of the elixers, parts, pieces, and higgeldy pie of a mixed media room with comments on use and efficacy:

Paints, Stains, Surface Preparations, and Finishes

Daler-Rowney acrylics
Marie’s water colour acrylics
I learned recently — there truly is a difference in paint quality. one easy way to tell cheap acrylics — to me anyway — is the texture of the paint. I recently bought lumpy paint and it sure as hell didn’t go on anything like the Daler-Rowney
Plaid brand craft paints (acrylics - Apple Barrel and Craft Smart)
DecorArt Staining and Antiquing Medium Delta Ceramcoat varnishes (polyurethane liquids and sprays)
Sophisticated Finishes antiquing solutions, metallic surfacers
Gesso - currently using Daler - Rowney acrylic gesso -prositutes or your grandmother’s victorian parlor?
white Folk Art (Plaid) floating medium
Golden Gel Mediums
Ace Hardware latex paints (Ace spray paint truly is a better paint than other brands)
more to come as soon as the Hoosier cabinet contents are fully revealed…

Glues, Stick ‘ems, and Tackies
Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue - favorite glue of all time because white glue just works on about everything.
UHU all Purpose twist & glue - second favorite glue — I use this all the time with paper other white glues which are not immediately evident
Adhesive Tech “the Glue Tube” - nice sponge applicator but kinda’ runny
Gorilla Glue - mega-glue supreme
Good old Elmer’s Glue - gotta’ love it
Elmer’s Rubber Cement Bondini Krazy Glue (gel)
Loctite super glue caulking

iMac - second-hand, I pray for its long life but wonder about the source.
HP Photosmart C4810 which has some scanner driver problems but aside from that it works quite well. the problems are mac related. the mac driver software for this printer was not available as US but could be downloaded from AU HP website until just last Aug. but now HP has a US version. The AU driver software as well as the US contains bugs but I probably still would have bought the all-in-one regardless.
Samsung ML-1740 laser printer
(driver information for both printers available here on this here blog here. Linux and Mac info for the Samsung. Really, try searching, betcha’ find it… if not, email me vmac a@t macewan d0tt net
Sony Cybershot DSC-F707 The tried and true, most loyal and wonderful camera. Even though it was purchased in 2000, I would be hard-pressed to find a camera from 2007 that worked as well for me.

Pens and Pencils — list arriving later next week along with links to purchasing options for art supplies

There’s just not enough time. Let it be noted that thanks be to Amanda and Evelyn for their marvelous items (and to Mandy for putting up with it all), to Phoebe Kate for her grandfather’s wonderful 1900s ads, to Ruth for her stereoptican slides, to Peggy for all the marvelous found objects from her parent’s house, to Robert for his roadside finds & his bricks & wheels…
